Bipasha Basu detained at Mumbai Airport |
Mumbai, May 26 – Bollywood’s black cat Bipasha Basu was held by Customs officials on Mumbai International Airport on Thursday for carrying excess luggage.
Reportedly, she was permitted to leave after half an hour when she agreed to pay the difference amount of tax on extra baggage.
Bipasha Basu was returning back from London when she was stopped and checked by Customs officials. She was allowed to leave after she paid Rs. 12,000 on accounts of tax on excess luggage.
Later on, in a statement on this incident, she praised the efficiency of Customs officials and said "It was a routine check and many others were being checked as well. I paid Rs.12,000 as tax against some personal goods."
On May 18, Bollywood actress Minissha Lamba was detained at the Mumbai airport for 16 hours by the Customs officials for carrying undeclared jewellery worth nearly Rs.50 lakh.
